In Dawnguards, there will be a few amendments to the vampires. Why? Because as the eventual Vampire Lord, you will not have the general disadvantages that vampires otherwise do: being unable to walk in the morning and being attacked by everyone in the cities and towns. If you ignore the moral aspect of things, joining the Vampires is absolutely awesome. Additionally, Dawnguard members will also be able to hire Armored Trolls, which serve as temporary followers. Joining the Dawnguards will grant you access to Fort Dawnguards, and access to unique new weapons and armor to fight vampires, including crossbows. If you are a Werewolf, the Lycanthropy will be removed once you become the Vampire Lord, but it can be regained later on. Joining with the vampires will eventually have you become the Vampire Lord, the paragon and leader of the vampires. If you investigate enough, you will be led to Fort Dawnguard, from where the questline will begin.Īs stated earlier, you have the choice to align with the vampires or the Dawnguards.
